I obtained my teaching degree at Lakehead University, in my home town of Thunder Bay, Canada, and taught for three years in Canada before moving to the United States in 2002. I have lived many "other lives," as swim coach, wilderness guide, office manager, and touring musician, but teaching has always been my first and true calling. I look forward to working with each of my students to bring out the best in us both.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy gardening, cooking, bicycling, canoeing, camping, skiing, snowboarding, and hanging out with my dog Sibley.

I grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts and made my way to Vermont to attend Saint Michael's College. After a one-year stint in Phoenix, AZ as an AmeriCorps*VISTA and then spending five years as the payroll administrator at The Vermont Teddy Bear Company, I finally got my act in gear and headed to UVM to get my certification and masters degree in teaching. I'm starting my 5th year teaching at Milton Middle School and am so thrilled to be a part of this fabulous team. I look forward to getting to know all of the students and helping them navigate through these dynamic adolescent years.

My life outside of school is very much filled with the role of being a relatively new parent. My husband, Adam, and I have a 17-month-old daughter, Hazel and she keeps our lives rich, exciting and exhausting! Throw in a dog and two cats and a pathetic garden, and much time is spent trying to keep beings alive when I'm at home. Winters find us snowshoeing and skiing, when possible, and summers find us camping, hiking, kayaking, enjoying the beach with family in Massachusetts and fervently rooting for the Red Sox.
